Lamprais: The Banana-Leaf Parcel Sri Lanka's Dutch Burghers Built to Outlast Their Own Community
Lamprais began as a Javanese snack the Dutch carried to Ceylon and rebuilt into a Sunday feast for an entire community. Today it survives largely as a commercial classic — one of the last edible traces of Sri Lanka's vanishing Dutch Burghers.
